Boltz Middle School
Principal: Brett Larsen
Grades: 6 - 8
720 Boltz Drive
80525 Fort Collins
Prior to the scheduled 1972 opening of Boltz, a fire ravaged the brand new facility. Determined crews immediately rebuilt the structure from the ashes, and Boltz opened in January 1973. Accordingly, the mythological Phoenix was chosen as the school mascot.
At Boltz, students are our number one priority! A strong academic and exploratory curriculum is necessary for students to reach their highest potential. Students are encouraged to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. School-wide expectations are the six Ps: Prompt, Prepared, Polite, Participate, Positive Attitude, and Produce.
Boltz staff and students model the character traits of respect, integrity, honesty, and responsibility. Conflicts are generally resolved non-violently using the Positive Interaction Model.
Boltz has a dynamic and diverse student population. Staff provides a nurturing, safe environment founded on a culture of respect and understanding of early adolescence with a commitment to the academic, physical, social, and emotional growth of students.
Boltz offers the academically rigorous PSD standards-based curriculum for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Students in 7th and 8th grade may choose Pre-Advanced Placement classes for an even more challenging program.

We offer a wide variety of courses and activities including band, orchestra, choir, musical theater, engineering explorations, humanities, advanced art, internet club, Student Council, WEB Leaders, Science Olympiad, Math Counts, Odyssey of the Mind, athletic conditioning camp, and homework assistance.
